New outlets Q

When rewiring and adding new outlets in finish walls, can the receptacles be installed and connections made before the final inspection?
Thank you

Not sure I understand your question about finish walls. Everything must be installed and operational before the final inspection.

If you are asking about installing the receptacles and such before the drywall, you will find it easier to install them after the drywall is hung.

Thanks for reply, the rewiring is old work there is not drywall to be hang, the new outlets are added to comply with code, number and location.
I guess my question is a final inspection for the rewire and new autlets is all that I need or a ''roughin '' first just for the new outlets and then the final.
Thank you

A rough-in is done before the wiring is hidden from view. If there will not be a finished surface and the wiring can still be seen with the devices installed, I would think you could take care of both aspects with just a final.

Boss, he said this is old work, not new. In our area, that is usually OK, but ma not be true everywhere.

Thanks Bill,

Sometimes I have followed the later posts and forgotten what the original post asked.
