Dishwasher rough in?

I realize, and have planned for a single circuit to the dishwasher. The wall is still open where it will end up. Should I add a box and 20amp receptacle or just bring the wire up through the floor somewhere for hard wiring? TIA

I would put a receptacle for a couple of reasons. To me it is just easier using a cord set. Your AHJ may require a disconnect, that will provide it. In the future you may want a garbage disposal. Assuming neither the GD or DW are super size they can co exist on the same circuit. In fact since the wall is open you might want to put a switch in now for a future GD, Break the brass tab on the receptacle and wire it all up. You'll be set to go for ant future GD plans.

Thanks Ray, that answer made good sense to me. I've never had a GD but I take it the switch would be at the same elevation as the counter top receptacles?

It can be. Some people like the switch in the cabinet under the counter or a pneumatic switch near the faucet.
