Rpm ?

greetings again, I have a heavy duty 1/4HP electric gearmotor that i will be using for a pit style rotisserie. it presently has an rpm of 27, what is the easiest and cheapest way to slow it down to about 10 rpm or less. i was thinking of a chain drive system..any other ideas? THANKS!

Yes, a chain drive. You'll get the RPM you want and a bonus of slightly more horse power. You'd want the the driven gear about 2.7 times larger then the motor gear.
