Honey, I blew the lights out

I was changing the bulb in the kitchen
replacing the existing one with Energy Saver

The lights has slot for two.

So I put in two brand new lights- tested it and everything seemed fine
So at this time- I started putting the cover on the lights back.
(Lights were ON at this time)

And Boom !!!

The lights went off with a small spark and a smalls sound (I think)
So I thought - I just lost the bulb
But now even if I put back in a good bulb- nothing works !!!

Other appliances in kitchen are working good
As well as a bulb in kitchen in the sink area

Any idea what's happening ?
I already checked the main- circuits and everything looks good there

You need to open up the light and look for a loose wire. Do this with the breaker off. If you can't find a cause the next step is to look for a GFCI that is tripped. Lights really shouldn't be on a GFCI but you never know. You will need to check any connections in the switch box for the light though that is not a likely cause. If the switch box has only two wires it is probably not in the switch box.

You likely tripped the breaker or blew a fuse with a loose or pinched a wire. Pull the light and check that none of the wires are damaged and reinstall the light.
