Question Table saw switch

I have a older delta 10 inch table saw that has a start switch that went out on it. I was told that i could use a normal household switch on it. If so how do I wire it up ? It has 2wires on the motor BLACK & WHITE , 3 WIRE ON THE POWER CORD BLACK WHITE GREEN.

Personally, i would use a maintained push button switch with a mushroom head on it (emergency stop switch). If the contacts can handle the load or use a contactor with it.

You would just run the blacks through the switch and white to white and ground to ground. You said the motor only has 2 wires so I would at least put a stak-on and ground the motor casing.
