Circuit Out but Breaker Not Tripped

I woke up this morning with my refrigerator not working. It turns out that some other outlets and lights in the kitchen aren't working. I'm assuming that one circuit is out. When I checked the circuit breaker, I found that none of the circuit breakers were tripped. I did turn the specific breaker off and back on, but that didn't make a difference. Any ideas? Thanks.

Did you check all the GFCI breakers in the house, outside, garage, basement, and the one you had forgotten existed?

There is one GFCI outlet in the kitchen that is not working. I have checked all the other GFCIs that I know about, and they are working.

Bingo! Maybe? Have you tried resetting it? If it won't reset you may need to replace it.

I started to replace it and realized that one white wire had apparently come loose from the old outlet. When I reattached the wire, everything worked fine. Thanks for your help.
