Question Wiring a tubular heating element to 220v?

I need help wiring a typical heating element for an electric oven to 220v from a thermostat with only two connections. I think this is used as a trigger.

I need to know if one 110v wire goes to one side of the heating element and the other wire goes to the the thermostat to act as the switch to turn on the second 110v wire.

Will this give me the proper connection, to give me a 220v heating element?

Thanks to anyone in advance.

Yes that sounds correct, the thermostat is only breaking one leg of the 240 volt circuit.

Thank you, wirenut. Does anyone else have anything to say, though? I'd like to be absolutely sure about this.

I know it's correct, would it have made any difference if I didn't say "sounds correct"?

You'll need to wire it up correctly. One hot will go straight to the element and the other hot will go to the t-stat then to the element

Sorry, I like to speak in simple terms and answer the question directly.

I'm sorry if I offended you, wirenut. I'll give this a try tomorrow.

Well since you asked for opinions you don't have any 110v wires. You have two 240v wires.
