Remodeling conundrum

I'm remodeling my kitchen and replacing the cook top. The old one connected near the floor via a long ~4' armorflex cable. The new one calls to connect 6" below cook top base (~ 13 below top of cabinet) well above the amount of power cable available. The kitchen is above a bathroom below, so pulling a new cable would be extremely difficult i.e pull up the floor. What are my options? Could I put in a junction box in the kitchen cabinet base and splice the power cable? If so what are recommendations on splicing ( not really fond of wire nuts for this type application)

How long is the pigtail on the cook top? Will it reach the original junction box? If not, you can run comparably sized cable (not individual wires) from the old junction box to a new junction box, making appropriate connections to the cables in each box, providing cable strain reliefs as well.
