Transfer switch for regular and off-peak meter

I have a regular and an off-peak electrical meter from my electric company for my 100 amp service. The off-peak meter's electricity cost is about half that of the normal meter. I was wondering about installing a transfer switch between the two meters so that I could have all my electric on one (or the other) automatically depending on what the peak time is, as the off-peak meter would shut off once peak time was entered. I figure I would save quite a bit of money with this type of setup. Currently just my hot water heater is on the off-peak meter and everything else is on the regular meter.

The thing is I see a lot of different transfer switches, a lot of them being for backup generators. I also see a lot of difference in price. Anybody have a recommendation?

Well, what you intend to do sounds pretty illegal to me. If the PoCo offers an off peak program then just sign up for it and it will all be automatic. They'll do any meter swaping required.

And no, I don't think they make any sort of timed transfer switches.

The whole point of the off-peak meter is so you can't run the loads at peak time. You get a discounted rate on that meter in exchange for the power company deciding when you can and can't use the appliance. A transfer switch between the two would be fraudulent.
