Help - Trying to add an outlet...

I want to add an outlet on the other side of a wall.
Basically the outlet is in the closet and not in the bedroom. I know, weird right?

So I thought the outlet would have an empty spot so I could connect into it, but it doesn't.

What are my options?
  • Splice into the existing outlet and have 3 sets of wires running out of the box (2 existing and 1 new wire going to new outlet/box)?
  • Splice the wire outside the box, That means marretts outside a box in the wall, is that code friendly?
  • Splice the wire outside the box, and wire into new outlet/box is that code friendly?
  • I don't need the outlet in the closet, so could un wire it and use that wire for the new outlet that will be beside of it opposite side of wall

Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Pigtail the existing wires in the old box and wires from new cable and run the pigtails to the existing receptacle. No, you can not use wirenuts in the wall outside of an always accessible Jbox. Simples way is to just pigtail. Some electricians even pigtail when there is just two cables.
