Amperage question

Hey, I'm trying to rig a CPU fan to run off of a power adapter for a charger. So far it's working, but I was wondering if it would eventually overload.

The Fan itself requires 12V DC 150mA and the adapter I'm using is outputting 12V DC 300mA. Would the fan be able to continuously handle the extra 150mA? If not, is there anyway I could modify the output of the adapter?

Definitely not an electrical engineer.

Your setup is okay. The 300mA rating on the power supply is the maximum output. When only the fan is connected, the power supply provides only the 150mA required by the fan.
