Faceless GFCI for Whirlpool tub location

So as I am planning my whirlpool tub install and the GFCI outlet under the apron that was installed looks like it might interfere with the tub. I need to reposition the outlet and since I am redoing it make it a single. I was searching for ideas and ran across a faceless GFCI device that would go inline with an regular outlet (non GFCI). The question is how far (or close) must this device be from the tub and should it be at switch height?

Thxs

I would mount it the same as the switches just for a consistant look. Pick a convenient location outside of the footprint of the tub.

Agree, I like mounting them just outside, like a receptacle, and run the wires on to the receptacle for the tub, which is under the apron. Should you have a trip, it would be obvious and can be easily reset. Or in the switch combo, either way.
