Box Fill Help

Hello,

I am trying to size a junction box based on this:

4 #14 circuits passing through it, with one of the circuits being tapped into and pigtailed off in two directions.

3 of the circuits will just pass through, no splices on them.

So a total of 8 current carrying conductors and one ground.

My attempt:

1 ground=1*2.00
6 #14 = 6*2.00=12.00
how much does the pigtailed circuit count as?

Here's a picture...

Pigtailed wire does not count. The wires that only pass through the box is only counted once. So you have:

6 wires passing through = 12 cu in
6 wires spliced (3 in, 3 out) = 12 cu in
1 ground = 2 cu in

Total = 26 cu in required

so basically since the circuit that is spliced goes into all three conduits it's counted for each conduit? All three directions.. I thought I could get away with a standard 4" box but it looks like I'll need a 4" deep box
