Hot Neutral Reverse
Just bought a GFCI Outlet Tester, and find that some of the outlets in home have a "Hot/Neu Rev" problem. This is after many years living in this home, with no known problems. Do not have any GFCI outlets in home. Serious enough to have corrected? Thanks.

"Hot/Neutral Reverse" more often than not means "No Ground" with that type of tester. It cannot determine the difference between the two conditions.
Is this a two-wire circuit which someone has incorrectly installed three-prong receptacles?
