Question

I have an outdoor light fixture that seems to "eat" light bulbs. A bulb will last for about two months and then blow out. This has been going on since early summer. Should I be using a different bulb (I will typically use a 60 watt, per manufacturer's instrux) or is there something I can check in the light itself?

Suspect you are running this light a lot of the time. If so the life expectancy of the bulb would calculate out to be about the time frame you described.

If cold weather is not a problem you might try a screw in flourescent adapter bulb. The life expectancy is much longer but the cost is much more also. Less labor changing the bulb all the time.

I haven't tried the flourescent bulb in an outside fixture but it may work.

Good Luck
