Wiring an additional light fixture to a combination light switch/receptacle

Need a little advice with a small wiring problem. Trying to add an extra 3" recessed light to a guest bath that currently has a lone fixture above the sink. The light above the sink is controlled by a wall switch that has a switch on top and a receptable on the bottom. I ran romex from the new recessed fixture into the box and then wire-nutted it to the black and white wires that were in the box and connected the ground to the ground screw on the side of the switch. But, the recessed light is always on and does not switch on/off. Where did I go wrong?

Switch

Sounds like you connected to the "power in" side of the switch.
Move the new black wire to the other screw on the switch.
