I thought this would be an easy one.
I had received a 25Amp photosensor for christmas, and went to supply and bought parts for it. I just wanted to replace a 1 gang box inside and install a 2gang one, re-using the one 20a receptacle, and adding a second, with the second being feed-thru, as well a single exposed one housing a sensor with a blank outside. I looked not even 5 minutes ago, and the stud is to the left of the box-the side I wanted to run the wire out of. Is there any way to fish the 12/3 through a stud, and through the outside wall by the next stud?

If I have to open a wall, I will put it either next to where te se cable comes in to the house or directly behind the receptacle. There is an outside receptacle somewhere around the receptacle, that's why I wanted the sensor a little farther away.
Chandler, I did get alot of clothes, but I also got the sensor, a metal plug strip, C7 dimmable led retrofits for my candles, and a few other things. I wanted a 20A QO AFCI and nec2011, but I didn't get them

There's nothing wrong with a practical Christmas list!! When I first got married, last century, Sears put out a tool catalog. I would get it and circle things I wanted. It would circulate through the family and I would get what I wanted. No goofy stuff. And a good way to build up your tool cache.
Yeah the 2011 NEC is pricey.........if you want to push the envelope ask for it in searchable CD version.
