Distance from recessed light fixture to ceiling surface
I had a recessed light fixture installed recently and just want to make sure it was done properly. Is there a maximum allowable distance between the ceiling surface and the beginning of a recessed light fixture? I know there is one in terms of a regular switch box and in terms of a ceiling box for non-recessed fixtures, but wasn't sure on recessed light fixtures.
The picture below is how it currently is. It probably needs another coat of mud then sanding and then the trim ring.
