12VDC fan to 110v outlet
I have two SL-FD 14025 140mm cooling fans that have a 4-pin power supply / 3pin mother board connection. The fans are 12VDC with a power rating oof 0.96W and current of 0.08A
I would like to convert the power supply so that the fans can operate from a standard 110V outlet. What do I need to do to cinvert the power supply? Can I simply splice a 12v converter to the fan?

Ahh...didn't read well enough I guess. Not sure I can answer..but I'd guess that the yellow is for speed sensing...
Looking at the pic from Newegg...the P/S connector just uses the red and black....so that must be the actual power connections. Red would be + and black would be -. You'll probably need a meter to determine which wire on the wall wart is what...

Shouldn't matter. It will only supply what the fans draw...just make sure it is DC not AC. Many computer shops and even thrift stores have bins full of wall warts for really cheap.

A power supply that would work with two fans like you posted would have to supply at least 160MA @ 12VDC so any supply greater then 160MA should work as long as it is a quality regulated supply. A 300Watt supply is overkill and probably would be to expensive for just two fans
Anyway in your case the RPM lead is the yellow wire and just to power the fan will be left unconnected and insulated with tape or a wire nut
If you use a wall wort type supply with two black wires (One with a white stripe) the wire with the white stripe is usually the positive wire but you should test to be sure before you connect everything

Jeez...I meant milliwatt...lol. I just picked 300 out of the air...cause there's one plugged in right in front of me probably.
