switch

this is about a combo// switch on top and plug on bottom receptacle.
the tab is broken. its for a dead end install...I want the switch to turn
on the plug. nothing else. I assume its neutral to the N screw and black to the top brass common on the other side and a jumper from that same common to the bottom common.......yes/no???

Your post is confusing. Post some photos of what you have and tell us again what you are wanting to do.

The switch part of the device has a line and load terminal. If I understand correctly, what you propose to do will work, but be sure the jumper is from the load terminal on the switch to the brass screw on the receptacle. You said the tab was already removed so this should work.
