2 prong conversion

There is a standard two prong plug outlet in the wall. ON THE TOP, there two gold screws. The one on the left has one white plastic coated wire attached to it. The one on the right has two cloth covered wires attached in to it.
On the bottom of the plug, there are two silver screws. On the left, there is one plastic coated white wire attached to the screw, and on the right screw, there are two black cloth covered wires attached to it.

The house was built about 1954, although the part of the house this plug is in was remodeled in about 1976. I want to convert this plug so it will conform to the other outlets in the room which we had converted to three prongs by an electrician. I could, I suppose, use a converter if I needed to since I have some already.

Thanks for your original input. I look forward to your suggestions.
Sincerely, Ralph

Before any answers are given we would need to know the existing wiring method.

BTW, the two wires under one screw head is wrong. One wire per screw head.

What was done to convert the other receptacles - are they actually grounded?
