What is best way to troubleshoot outlet that isn't working???

Outlet in ceiling of garage that garage door opener plugs into has no power. Wire connections on outlet are fine.

Other outlets in garage are also dead.

Have checked all gfci outlets and seem good.

I have also checked the power coming from every breaker in mail panel and they check good.

What would be the best way to troubleshoot this problem. I am going to try and start tracing the wires back, I suspect an open on another recepticle but if you have any other suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

It certainly sounds like it's GFCI related in one way or another. I would start by going to the GFCI that supplies those outlets, opening it up (turn power off first) and verifying the connections. Then turn the power on and check with a meter to see if you have power there. If you do then checked the load side of the GFCI. I've seen them fail so they look like they're reset but aren't.
