smoke alarm

3 story townhouse
Chirpping so replaced battery.
Took off front of unit and black to black but loose wire nuts for others.
Seems from box 2 red together, 3 black together and two white together.
I wired the alarm's white to white in unit, yellow alarm to red in unit and black to black.
The green light is on and the red blinks periodically. The test button works.
Because the wires nuts fell off at night I am asking if the wiring sounds safe?
Thank you

With 3 blacks I would have expected 3 whites. I suspect you have 3 cables in the box; two 3 conductors with blk/wht/red and one two conductor with blk/wht. Ig nore the grounds for this exercise. They should be spliced and tucked in the back of the box.
