Dimmer for LEDs?

I have a set of LEDs that I bought from Ace Hardware. They are for mounting outside.

What I'd like to do is mount these on my deck and then run an extension cord to a plug attached to a switch. My question is: can I buy a dimmer wall switch to operate the LEDs? Will LEDs work OK when attached to that type of switch or can then not be dimmed at all?

Thanks

LED I have run into are dimmable with standard dimmers. Here is some good info from Lutron: http://www.lutron.com/Education-Trai...LsandLEDs.aspx

I wouldn't advise using a dimmer to control an outlet. I think I'd do some hardwiring to your LED lights and then control them with a dimmer.

LEDs require special dimmers to get the full range of brightness. Lutron, among others, sells the correct dimmers.
