Stoppin them nails

Hello,

Have several places on a top plate where the truss is directly over the two top plates of the interior framing. Some electrical wires need to come down so I have to drill some holes close to the edge of the "top plates" for the romex.

Do I use a Simpson NS or NSP?

Would appreciate some clarification on what is proper usage of the Simpson NS and NSP.

Thanks

Either one is fine. Just as long as the cable is protected.
