Rewiring a Variable Speed AC motor

I have a Toro 12 Amp AC Variable speed blower motor that suddenly guit working.

The motor shows continuity and is not burned. Can I re-wire directly from the power source and by-pass the variable speed controls with a simple On/Off switch?

Is this for a Toro leaf blower? Because I just had one stuck to on and will not shut off yesterday.

Short answer would be yes. Bypassing the speed control should work just fine.

If it's just a universal motor with two leads, then yes you can bypass the variable speed controller and just wire to hot and neutral.
