cable question

greetings from NH once again.

I will be installing a 240V single section of electric baseboard heat. The cable feeding this heater is NM 12-2 with ground. The breaker is a 20A DP breaker. The neutral conductor has been painted with a black marker as a hot conductor. Am I good to wire this heater?

thanks.

You're good to go with the heater.

Does your thermostat break both wires in a full off position?
