jumping off of 220v

jumping off of 220v

can i jump off one side of a 220v wire, and install a 110v outlet box? if so, how?

Welcome to the forums.. No you can't for a number of reasons. You need a neutral which you don't have. Also a 240v line is for a dedicated use. It can't generally be used for additional loads and often is protected by two large of a breaker for general purpose 120v applications..

Tech note: Residential single phase nominal voltages are 120v and 240v not 110v and 220v.

That's what we are here for. Let us know if you need help running a new 120v line.
