Cutting drywall around main electrical panel

Hi, I need to remove the drywall around the main electrical panel (located in the garage) to have access to the wires and reroute a few.

Any particular technique I should be using when working around the main panel? Or should I just use a stud finder to mark the studs and then cut? I would not like to damage any cable or wire. Which tool do you suggest?

I would score it with utility knife on center of the studs. Then use a hammar to bust up the drywall around the box.

Most panels are the width of the stud bay. I have used a utility knife and made multiple scores until I was deep enough.

OK hopefully I will be able to remove it without too much damage so that I can re-apply the same again.
