What to do with my unused wires?

I recently replaced a dimmer for my basement and when I removed the old dimmer, I found 2 live wires behind it(nothing on their ends, just freshly snipped). They are somehow connected to my kitchen breaker, while the wires I use for the dimmer are on my basement breaker. I'm not sure where their source is from. Can I just twist them into the wires I already have going to the dimmer? How do I safely end them? Thanks for the help.

Without knowing where they go I would just screw a wire nut over each wire end.

So one wire nut on each wires(black and white)? And should I strip a little off the ends before I put the nut on? Thanks again.

I agree with pcboss. Yes. one wire nut on each, and no, you do not need to strip them. Just make sure the wire nut does not fall off.

Great, that sounds like an easy fix. Thanks.
