Doorbells- one works, one doesn't

I have a doorbell on my front and back doors. The back doorbell works but the front one doesn't. I changed the chime; that didn't solve it. I changed the transformer; that didn't solve it. When the wires from the front doorbell are touched together, the chime buzzes/hums but doesn't ring. Should my next step be to rewire from the front doorbell? Thanks

That depends. More information may help:

What chime do you have? Is it one chime with different tones for each door? What wires are connected, and to which terminal? A picture of the uncovered chime might help. See How To Include Pictures.

I solved it. It WAS the coil in the bell; when it broke originally, I swapped out the bell and that didn't solve things. This time I traded the back and front door wires on the old bell and got the buzz sound for the back button (when originally it was for front). So I bought a new bell and installed it and it works. Thanks
