Question

I'm installing recessed lights in the basement and the lighting will be on a new circuit and the switch can handle the load 450 watts (50 watts each light) rated at 90 deg. C temp. but I am wondering if it's OK to run 9 lights in a row on one line? I'm using 12-2 W/G wire. Lights are thermally protected and the ceiling is not insulated. Thanks.

Yes, it's okay. Are you really using 50-watt bulbs? What kind of bulbs are these?

Recessed lights

The 50 watt bulbs I'm using are R-20 type, like a mini flood lamp. Thanks!
