Above Ground Pool Pump Tripping Circuit

We have an above ground pool that we believe was installed in 2000. We have never replaced the pump and can only assume it is the original pump (we moved here in 2004). We ran the pump yesterday with no problem and now today everytime we try to turn it on it trips the circuit. We've tried resetting it a couple of times, but it just keeps tripping. Any suggestions? It is very frustrating!

Welcome to the forums!

One quick question: Is the pump tripping a GFCI or a standard breaker?

One suggestion: Donít keep re-setting it, until the problem is found and corrected.
