Dillema

Hi guys.

I am trying to add a switch that controls a light on the outside of the house
on the otherside of the box.
I have tried the following, without success:

Black source connects to bottom screw on switch and black outlet.
White source connects to white from light and white outlet.
Bottom screw on switch connects to black from light.

But when I complete these connections I now have no power at the outlet or
light. Thanks for your help in advance..... Mark

Edit: your attachment was not showing when I posted this. Assuming the one gray wire from the switch is really black your diagram seems correct.

At the receptacle if both screws are in use connect all blacks to a pigatil and pigtail to brass side of receptacle.
All whites to a pigtail and pigtail to silver screw.

At the switch the two blacks to the switch
The two whites wire nutted together.

At the light.
Black to black.
White to white.

Grounds connected in the normal manner.
Assumes a constant hot receptacle.

Thanks guys.. all fixed.
I think that the white wires were not twisted together well within the nut...

Thanks again!
