The light in the exhaust fan of my upstairs bath no longer comes on. The light itself is connected to the switch which turns on the lights above the sink. They still come on. I have changed the light bulb in the fan -- no good. The fan is connected to another switch and still works. By the way, my house is 1-1/2 years old so I'm a little concerned with this problem so early on.

The light is usually plugged into a white receptacle within your fan. Check to see if you have power in that receptacle. There should be a second receptacle in that fan that powers the fan. If you do have power in both receptacles inside that fan then try switching the plugs. See if the light works on the fan section of the receptacle within that fan. If it does not work while plugged into the fan receptacle either then your problem is either a broken connection in you light socket or you have foreign matter in the light socket, or you still have a bad bulb within that fan.

Hope this helps
