Conduit / Exterior Wiring Question
Hi all,
I need to move a photocell (in a junction box) around to the front corner of my house because the shrubs keep the mailbox lights on all day by blocking the light. The cell sits about 6 inches up from the ground. I only need to move it 'round the corner; about 4 feet in length.
To save from having to run new conduit around the corner of the house, can I just run a short piece of Romex from the existing box to the new box? Or, is there a certain kind of flexible conduit that would make it easier? I'd just like to stay in code.
Thanks in advance.

Type NM cable cannot be used outdoors. You could use Type UF cable or a piece of flexible non-metallic conduit with individual conductors in the proper colors.

*If GFCI protected and 20 amps or less it can be 12" deep.

@ ray, I thought UF—without conduit--had to be buried 24 inches
