Dead receptacle, two hot wire feed... need some help
I just moved into a house and it has a dead receptacle. There's power coming into it. When I attach a prong to both it reads DC... weird I know. So I decided to run a extension cable to the receptacle to test it out. Here is a diagram of my findings. There is also two white wires attach to C and D that feeds to the outlet on the otherside of the wall.

Welcome to the forums! When you said you ran an extension cable to it, exactly what did you do? Your drawings are good, but would it be possible for you to remove the power from this receptacle and pull it from the wall and take a pix or two so we can see what you have? How did you determine this was producing direct current? http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...your-post.html

Are you using an analog meter? The 24V sounds like induced voltage, which analog meters are generally better at shedding than digital meters are.
