replaced light fixture now all the lights on that breaker not working
We replaced my daughters bedroom light and before we attached it to the ceiling we made sure the light worked (because it didn't work on the ceiling fan we took down). the light worked so we shut off the breaker again and finished mounting the fixture to the ceiling plate. when we turned the breaker on sparks came out of the light switch and the light didn't turn on. we turned the breaker off and tried again and again we saw sparks and there was no light. Then we discovered that the bathrooms lights don't work, one outlet in my daughters room won't work and the ceiling fan doesn't work in the front bedroom. so it appears that everything on the one breaker won't work. Hoping it was a frazzled breaker we replaced it but still no power to any of those rooms. ??? can anyone please help?

Sounds like a wire poped loose when you put it back together.Have you looked for a tripped GFCI receptacle in the bathroom? (No, the bath receptacle shouldn't be on this circuit but you never know.)

the bathroom receptacle doesn't even have a GFCI. Don't know why but that's how it is. we have one upstairs in our bathroom and we reset that and reset the one in the garage just in case. nothing happened. we just put a new switch in my daughters room (where the sparks were coming from) in case that was the problem but after replacing it and turning the breaker on there was a flash of light from the light switch and the breaker switch doesn't stay on. it hangs between on and off until we switch it off.

The breaker handle being in the center position indicates it is tripped.

We got it working. the connections had come undone in the light fixture we had just put up. after we connected everything again the lights worked in all the room and no more flying sparks!
