Getting the electrical ground for a 2-pin amplifier

Hi,

I have purchased an old amplifier with a two pin power plug. It also has a separate ground knob at the back.

I live on in a 25th floor apartment and have no ground cable ( at least I don't see one). However, all electric sockets in my apartment are 3-pin.

I am wondering how I should ground the amplifier. Can I connect a wire to the Ground knob of the amplifier and then connect it to the Ground pin of one of the 3-pin sockets?

Thanks.

If your receptacles in the apartment is grounded (3 prong), then I suggest replacing the cord to the amp with a 3 wire cord and run the green wire to the amps ground terminal.
