external wires after light fixture was removed - is this acceptable?

is this a problem to have loose wires outside like this?

what can be done to fix this?

Wire nut them off and put a weatherproof cover and gasket on.
The wires will be there for future use.

You could also remove the wires from the conduit if you can find the other end and remove the conduit and box. The other box would remain.
