Noisy Relay

I installed a Generac 14k generator with a whole house, automatic transfer switch. I have 3 relay controlled circuits that are part of the load shedding capability of the switch. The problem is that these relays make a loud, to me, humming noise which the manufacturer told me was normal. I don't know a lot about relays, but I was wondering if there was some type of relay, maybe solid state, that makes no noise at all. The load on the relay is a maximum of 50 amps at 240 volts. The operating coil uses just under one amp at 120 volts. Does any one know of a comparable replacement relay which makes no noise?

Thanks in advance, John.

The last Generac transfer switch I installed only had switched outputs for load shedding....no actual relays.

Are the load shedding relays in a separate enclosure ?

Yes, each relay has it's own separate enclosure.

I don't know of a ready to use product.

You could use 50 amp contactors to do the switching work.
You would need to get an encloser for the contactor.

You could get solid state switching modules but they are extremely expensive.
