2 gang outlet wiring

2 gang outlet wiring

I want to add a 2 gang outlet and wire (12-2) it back to my sub-panel in my workshop. I have room for 1 more dedicated breaker in the sub-panel, and I'm kinda unsure of the proper way to do this. Do I install the 2 gang box,then run the wire from the box back to the breaker or do I start at the panel, then run to the box? Appreciate some advise.

Welcome to the forums.

Doesn't matter which way you run the wire as long as you leave enough at each end to make your connections.

Adding a circuit typically requires a permit, have you acquired one?

I always finish the device before making up the panel. Less chance of working live that way.

You must be in a part of Tennessee I've never seen. I worked there for forty years, and the local AHJ always wanted a permit pulled.
