Old wires no power
I have an old home. The old BX wire runs in the walls and cieling for the original lights. I have a circuit that has power to the downstairs lights but I just lost the connection to the lights upstairs. How can I trace the old unpowered wires to find where the connection might be lost.

Welcome to the forums!
The open connection is probably in the last working light fixture or the first non-working one, unless the power is fed from switch to switch. It would be now but wasn't usually in earlier times.
Troubleshooting a dead receptacle or light...
To trace the wiring from place to place, you will need either a continuity tester and a long length of wire or a fox-and-hound toner. You may not need to do that though.
Has anyone worked on any of the fixtures recently?
