Help - Fluorescent shop light tripping GFCI

I have a plug in style 4' fluorescent shop light 2-Light 48" White High Performance Fluorescent Plug In Shoplight at Menards that trips my Leviton GFCI receptacle when I try to turn it on. I replaced an older GFCI with the Leviton, the older one did not trip. I tried a different plug in fluorescent and did not have any issues either. I replaced the receptacle so I could get a GFCI with a light on it, as it also powers my sump pump, making it easier to see if it's tripped or not.

Do I have a defective light? GFCI? Or are the two simply not agreeing with each other?

Thank you for your thoughts.

It is very likely that the ballast has a leak to ground. If they fixture is new get it exchanged.
If not....you can get a replacement ballast for it.

Thanks PJ - I tried a replacement and it worked just fine, that was likely the problem!
