I need this explained : attic air handler needs 240v. I have double pole breaker reading 120 to ground each leg and 240 across. At other end of lines i also have 120 to ground each leg but only 78 volts between legs. Do i have a compromised line after breaker?

There is no junction box between breaker and handler. Just lines from breaker go right to unit.

Welcome to the forums.

If there is no splice point then it appears you have a defective piece of wire.

Possibly compromised with a nail or cut in some other way. Wire very rarely goes bad by itself.
