UPDATE! To flickering/fluttering power saga
Hi all, It appears the problem with the flickering power in my house has been resolved, finally! Approximately 2 to 3 weeks ago the electrician stopped by to have a look in the meter socket for a loose neutral. He had to tighten it approx. 1 1/2 turns and nearly a full turn on one of the "hot" legs. He also had the POCO stop by and change the neutral from the pole on the lawn (not from the one with the transformer) to the weather head. Not only did the POCO change out the neutral, they changed the 2 hot feeds too. Ever since then the power has been steady; no flickering or fluttering.
For many years everytime the water pump came on or I was washing my clothes the power would flutter when the washer would agitate back and forth. It doesn't do that anymore. It appears the problem has been building for many years and I thought it was just normal for an old house to have "issues". I now know better.
I thought you would like to know what happened. Now, I can get back to more important things like getting my firewood under cover.
Thanks to everyone for your assistance and patience.

Thanks for the update. Other readers should note that in some areas, including mine, the power company will tighten the the wires in the meter can for free. That is one reason we say call the electric company emergency number first if you have flikering lights on multiple breakers.
