Tracing cable wires

I have a few cable TV wires that begin in my basement and end up at some unknown place. There are some blocked-off outlets in my house, but I don't think any of the wiring underneath is consistent with a cable wire. Short of cutting into walls, is there a way to trace these wires?

Much obliged for any advice you can offer.

You can get an electronic circuit tracer kit. It has two modules, one which you clip to a wire and the other you hold in your hand and press up against the wall like a stud finder and it emits a tone when it is near the subject wire.

I would still start with the blanked off boxes. Who knows how they ran the cable.
