60 amp gfi

I have a swim spa that needs a 60 amp gfi with loaded neutral.
The panel is GE. I am told they (GE) dont make one. Will any other brand work?

They sell a re-branded one in a spa panel - GE 60 Amp GFI Spa Panel-UG412RMW260P at The Home Depot

Breaker will probably fit but not legal to pass inspection. Use a separate panel near spa - might also use as means of disconnect within sight.

Midwest (owned by GE) also has both 50 and 60 amp spa panels. Both Home Depot and Lowes used to sell 50 and 60 amp Midwest Spa Panels.

Astuff is right, you need a disconnect at the spa anyway so just feed the spa panel with a 60A 2P GE THQL breaker.

Electric Stove Wiring

I was recently given an electric stove from someone who gutted it out of an old house. It's about 3 years old and I wanted to test it to make sure it works before I try and sell it. It's got 4 wires coming out of the conduit. The only outlet I have is a 3 prong outlet for my welder and I have some extras of those plugs. You can probably tell where I'm going with this, but I was told by an electrician I don't know that I can tie the ground and the neutral together and attach them to the ground on the 3-prong plug. My understanding on 220V 4 wire plugs is that the neutral ties in to one of the hots for parts on the piece of equipment that operate off 110V, correct? So how would joining the neutral and ground together allow the 110V parts to work since they're not technically joining to a neutral wire to the panel? My last question is if I do the mentioned above and plug it in, do I risk damaging anything or will the 110 equipment just not work?Read More

Wiring for new electric oven with 6/3 wire

Hello everyone! Ok so im refinishing my basement and converting a room into a kitchen. I plan on installing an electric oven. House was renovated few years back and whoever wired the main kitchen just left the old oven wire in joists. I was hoping i can use that its labeled 6/3 (red, black, white and bare ground)and is NM. I plan on putting it on a 50 amp breaker. Anyway the problem im having is that the ground is bare and is a lot thinner than the rest of the wires. The 6/3 i saw at electric supply store didnt have bare ground and guage was same as rest is my wire ok to use??? I need about 30 feet and the old wire i have here is 60ft run and would be a waste. Also looks farely new. Another question is should i feed that to main panel 150amp or one of the subs 80amp Also oven is not a double just reg basic electric oven.Read More
