Help me wire an in wall nightlight...electrician dropped the ball....

I have a three gang box in my bathroom. It has two switches and a nightlight. All of them are hooked to black wires and all of the whites are wire nutted together in the box.

They just put two black wires on my nightlight and never checked that it actually worked. Plus, the nightlight was not part of the job. THe nightlight is a cooper in wall and it clearly calls for a black and a white wire.

When I took off both black wires and powered the circuit on, ONE of them is hot.

How do I make this work? I ASSUME I need to pig tail off the white wire bundle and put that on the white terminal. Then, I use the HOT black wire that works and put that on the black terminal?

If thats wrong...please help.

I was an apprentice electrician in high school, and that was a LONG time ago. This used to be second nature to me, but its been a while since Ive wired anything. Name: photo 1.jpg

On your bottom pix, where does that wire go? It should be the wire that is not hot, correct? If the night light is to be illuminated all the time, then the silver screw needs a white wire from your bundle in the back of the box. Is it switch activated, or on all the time?

The black wire in the top is NOT HOT. It is to a piece of romex that goes into the cieling that WAS going to be a light. It was deleted as it was not needed. So, I guess they just assumed it was....I dunno what they assumed.

The nighlight is on all the time. So, the black hot wire bundle has a pigtail, adn that is what is currently hooked to the nightlight. I just need to hook to the white.
