Electricity is suppose to follow the path of least resistance Right?????

This is probably a stupid question but if I have 2 led's both connected in parallel and each led is connected in series with a resistor. led 1 is connected to a 400 ohm resistor and led 2 is connected to a 500 ohm resistor.

Why does the current not only flow through the led with the least resistance.
i.o.w why isn't led 1 on and led 2 of?

Welcome to the forums.

Electricity does follow the path of least resistance. The LED connected to the 400 ohm will be drawing more current and be brighter than the LED on the 500 ohm resistor. The resistances are so close that the current drawn thru them is very close.

Electricity does NOT follow the path of least resistance, it follows ALL paths back to the source. The current will be highest in the path with the least resistance but there WILL be current flow in ALL paths as long as the voltage is high enough to overcome the resistance.

You must mean the diode cut in voltage for the LED. For pure resistive loads, some current will flow no matter how high the resistance and no matter how low the voltage (if not zero).
